Advancing sustainable, plant-based food systems for a brighter future.
Healthier Atmosphere
Animal agriculture contributes to at least 15% of greenhouse gas emissions annually. By changing the way we produce and consume food globally, we can play a big role in keeping our atmosphere clean.
Healthier People
821 million people are food insecure. By 2050, we will add 2 billion more people to the planet. We can use the world’s resources to more efficiently feed the growing population and work to eliminate food insecurity.
Healthier Rainforests
Every second, 1-2 acres of rainforest are cleared for cattle grazing or animal feed. In the Amazon rainforest, 90% of deforestation is caused by livestock activities. Modifying our food production and consumption practices, including eating less meat, will help to preserve rainforests.
Healthier Oceans
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, we have overexploited 80 percent of the world’s fish populations (for which assessment information is available). We can replenish the ocean, rebuild ocean biodiversity, and restore the environmental benefits oceans provide us by changing the way we produce and consume food.
“A substantial reduction of impacts would only be possible with a substantial worldwide diet change, away from animal products.” - United Nations
